Driving me mad Despite legislation and plain common sense Whether with friends or alone So many seem to feel it’s OK To drive while they talk on the phone
The practice is widespread, I’m sorry to say But of blameless drivers there’s few ‘Cause while you driving a car of today There’s so many things you can do
I’ve seen girls fixing make-up and men sending texts White van drivers eating their lunch There’s nothing it seems you can’t do while you drive And that’s not for our good, I’ve a hunch
The on-board computer’s like Aladdin's cave And it’s fun to adjust all the seating I’ve even seen gentlemen having a shave Well, you must look your best for a meeting.
But the creme de la creme in this lunatic game Of all, the maddest creation The one that has greatest potential for harm Is satellite navigation
The voice can distract or confuse or annoy The screen takes your eyes off the track The routes disagree with what one knows to be true So without delay take the thing back
And shave, put on make-up and breakfast at home Leave lunch until you’re arriving Enjoy a few moments of calm In you car And use all your brain power for driving.
